The Wildcats have been on a recruiting tear of the last two weeks, and Wednesday was no exception for the Brent Brennan, Duane Akina, and the rest of the coaching staff. Following official visits over the last two weeks, three-star cornerback Coleman Patmon and three-star defensive lineman Mays Pese, who flipped his decision from Cal, committed to Arizona.

Coleman Patmon

Coleman Patmon, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound cornerback currently attends Del Valle High School in Del Valle, Texas. Last season as a junior, he was a disruptive force in pass coverage, recording 41 tackles, three interceptions, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. Like several of Arizona’s other 2025 recruits, Patmon also runs track.

He took official visits to Oklahoma State, Northwestern, and TCU, and also held offers from Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Washington, and more before pledging to the Wildcats. 247Sports.com rates Patmon as the No. 136 player from Texas, 74th-best safety, and No. 839 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class.

Patmon is now the seventh commit from the Lone Star State, joining Sean Robinson, Wesley Yarbrough, Terry Shelton, Allen Gant, Swayde Griffin, and Gianni Edwards. The last time Arizona had at least six commits from Texas was back in 2021.

Mays Pese

Mays Pese, the 6-foot-2, 275-pound defensive lineman from Bishop Garcia Diego High School in Santa Barbara, California. Pese committed to Cal just 10 days ago following an official visit in Berkeley, before flipping his commitment to Arizona after a weekend.

He is the fourth player Arizona has flipped in its 2025 recruiting class, and second from Cal along with three-star quarterback Robert McDaniel.

Prior to flipping from Cal to Arizona, Pese held offers from Michigan State, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Washington State, and more. 247Sports.com rates him as the No. 85 player from California, No. 166 defensive lineman, and No. 1162 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

He is the sixth player from California, and second defensive lineman, in the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class.

With Coleman Patmon and Mays Pese committed to Arizona, the Wildcats now have 17 commits in the 2025 recruiting class, good for the No. 6 recruiting class in the Big 12, and 38th overall recruiting class.
