Ahead of its first season in the Big 12, Texas is become something of a recruiting hub for the Wildcats. On Sunday, three-star safety Allen Gant from Lubbock, Texas committed to Arizona following an official visit in Tucson over the weekend.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound safety currently attends Coronado High School, just 10 minutes down the road from future Big 12 rival Texas Tech. Last season, Gant tallied 55 tackles, including four TFLs, along with four pass breakups, one forced fumble, fumble recovery, and interception. As a sophomore, Gant finished with 23 tackles, including one TFL, as well as a forced fumble and fumble recovery. He is also a sprinter that runs track.

Gant, who took official visits to Arizona and TCU, also held offers from Georgia Tech, Houston, Texas Tech, UTEP, and UTSA. Arizona defensive coordinator Duane Akina a key piece in Gant’s recruitment and was keen on the Texas safety.

247Sports.com rates Gant as the No. 137 player from Texas, 74th-best safety, and No. 855 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class.

Following his decision, Allen Gant joins three other future Wildcats in the 2025 class committed to Arizona from the state of Texas. He is also the second commit of the weekend, joining Dajon Hinton, who flipped his commitment from Arizona State to Arizona.
