After a flurry of commitments on Monday, Arizona doubled its 2025 recruiting class from three to six pledges. On Tuesday, the Wildcats received their seventh pledge of the 2025 class, as three-star wide receiver Terry “T5” Shelton committed to Arizona following an official visit in Tucson over the weekend.

Shelton, who attends Ranchview High School in Carrollton, Texas, is the first wide receiver commit of the 2025 class for Bobby Wade. The 6’4, 200-pound receiver should bring an exciting balance of size and speed with deep threat capabilities to the gridiron once he arrives in Tucson. As a junior, Shelton hauled in 32 receptions for 629 yards and eight touchdowns, good for 19.7 yards per catch and a touchdown every four receptions. Shelton also plays basketball and runs track as a sprinter.

Following his official visit to the UA on June 14, Shelton named Arizona, Boston College, Illinois, and Kansas to his Top Four, but also held offers from Arizona State, Houston, Nebraska, TCU, Texas Tech, and others. 247Sports and Rivals both reported that he also has an official visit to TCU scheduled for June 21, but AZ Band Cat Sports confirmed with Shelton that he has since canceled the visit following his commitment.

247Sports.com rates Shelton as the 167th-best prospect from the Lone Star State, No. 159 WR, and No. 1,031 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class.

Terry Shelton is Brent Brennan and Co.’s third pledge of the 2025 recruiting class from the Lone Star State, joining three-star athlete Sean “Rambo” Robinson and three-star running back Wesley Yarbrough, who both committed to Arizona on Monday, marking the first time since 2021 that the Wildcats have secured more than two high school recruits from Texas.
