The Wildcats are currently getting the early enrollees from their 2025 recruiting class up to speed, but that doesn’t mean they can’t look ahead to 2026. And when your head coach is a wide receiver coach by trade, that is especially true when looking to add speedy skill players. On Friday, 2026 three-star wide receiver Caleb Smith committed to Arizona.
The 5-foot-8, 160-pound Smith is from Allen, Texas and plays his high school ball at Allen High School. The speedster wideout is the No. 99 player from the state of Texas, 119th-best wide receiver, and No. 735 overall prospect in the class of 2026, per 247Sports.com. Smith also runs track as a sprinter and long jumper, where he has several sub-11.00 100-meter times. He is also a 2022 MaxPreps High School Football Freshman All-America 1st Team.
He held 20 offers, including Arkansas, Baylor, Louisville, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Texas Tech, Utah, and more. The Wildcats offered Smith in January of this year, but an unofficial visit to Tucson during spring ball helped accelerate his commitment.
Caleb Smith is the fourth player committed to Arizona in the Wildcats’ 2026 recruiting class. He is the second wide receiver, joining Hamisi Juma from Chandler, AZ, and third offensive player, alongside offensive lineman Michael Langi from San Francisco, CA.
