After quickly building a 2025 roster while heavily utilizing the transfer portal, Becky Burke’s high school recruiting has been on display in recent weeks. On Friday, 2026 center Callie Hinder announced her commitment to the Arizona Wildcats.
The 6-foot-6 Hinder is originally from Australia, but plays her high school and club ball up the I-10 in Phoenix, AZ. She preps at PHHoenix Prep (PHH), while playing club ball for Mountain West Premier. Hinder also represented Australia in the U19 Women’s World Cup in Czechia this past summer. While she only appeared in two games for the Aussies, Hinder and Team Australia did return home with a silver medal after falling to Team USA in the finals.
Before transferring to PHH Prep, Hinder played her first two years of high school at Corona Del Sol and Hamilton, respectively. Per MaxPreps, during 54 games, Hinder 10.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game, while shooting an efficient 54 percent from the field.
Hinder reported at least 20 offers during her recruitment, including Big 12 programs ASU, Kansas, TCU, and Texas Tech. She also held offers from Oregon, SMU, Wisconsin, and more. Hinder narrowed her decision down to Arizona and Kansas, before ultimately committing to Burke and the Wildcats following an official visit in June. While she is a highly recruited and touted prospect, she does not hold ratings from ESPN HoopGurlz, 247, On3/Rivals, or other top recruiting sites.
With the commitment from Callie Hinder, Becky Burke has secured two players for the Arizona Wildcats’ 2026 recruiting class, with forward Priyanka Ponnam pledging to the UA last week. As of now, it is unclear if Spanish guard Somto Okafor‘s commitment to Arizona remains following the coaching change.
