Fresh off a dominant win over the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder, the Wildcats have landed a in-state prospect in next season’s recruiting class. 2026 safety James Pike from Phoenix, AZ has announced his commitment to Arizona via social media.
The 6-foot-0, 185-pound safety attends Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, Arizona, one of the top high school programs in the state of Arizona. Per MaxPreps, through nine games this season Pike has 61 total tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Through his junior and senior seasons, the Phoenix native tallied 112 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, six pass deflections, and a fumble recovery through 22 games.
While Pike does not have a very robust recruiting profile on 247Sports, he does have offers from Fordham and Northern Arizona listed. Per social media, Pike also held an offer from Drake. He does not currently hold a rating from the recruiting site.
James Pike becomes the 21st player in the Arizona Wildcats’ 2026 recruiting class, and is the fourth in-state player planning to stay home to begin their collegiate career. Pike is also the fourth defensive back in the 2026 recruiting class, joining two-way player Hamisi Juma, and Texas recruits Griffin Tillis and Xaier Hiler.
