In Seth Doege‘s first full business day as Arizona’s offensive coordinator, he’s already making moves on the recruiting trail. On Monday, three-star quarterback Sawyer Anderson announced that he is flipping his commitment from Purdue to Arizona.
The 5-foot-10.5, 177-pound Anderson plays his high school ball for Parish Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas. During his high school career, he threw for 14,674 yards, 158 touchdown passes, and just 25 interceptions. He also rushed for another 965 yards and 13 touchdowns during his time as a Panther. Anderson led Parish Episcopal to back-to-back TAPPS Division I state titles in 2021 and 2022, as a freshman and sophomore.
Sawyer Anderson is flipping his commitment from Purdue to Arizona after the Boilermakers released offensive coordinator Graham Harrell and head coach Ryan Walters, and hired former UNLV head coach Barry Odom. Prior to that, Anderson had been committed to Purdue since August of 2023. He held offers from 30 programs during his recruitment, including Arizona State, Colorado, Miami, Mizzou, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and more.
247Sports.com rates the three-star gunslinger as the No. 172 player in Texas, 64th-best QB, and No. 1,108 overall prospect in the class of 2025.
He is the second quarterback in Arizona’s 2025 recruiting class, joining three-star in-state signee Luke Haugo. He is also the eighth player from the Lone Star State in the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class. Anderson will not be able to sign with the Wildcats until Signing Day on February 5.
