In the span of two days, Arizona Women’s Basketball went from having no members in its 2025 recruiting class to now four. Safe to say Becky Burke has been BUSY. On Sunday, Arizona Women’s Basketball landed a commitment from Spanish guard Mireia Jurado Pla, who flipped her commitment from SMU following its head coaching change.
The 6-foot-0 guard is a native of Avinyó, Spain. She currently plays for the Spanish club Segle XXI in the Spanish Liga Femenina 2, the same club as 2026 commit Somto Okafor. In 16 games during the 2024-25 season, Jurado averaged 6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.6 steals in 19.9 minutes per game. She has room to grow as a shooter, shooting 36.5 percent from the field and just 23.2 percent from three-point range.
In seven games with Spain’s FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup squad, Jurado averaged 5.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. Spain finished with a 6-1 record, and placed third in the U17 World Cup last summer in Mexico.
At just 18 years old, Jurado has a decorated international playing career. As a member of the Catalonian Team, she was a runner-up in the Spain U-12 Championships. She went on to play with Barca BCS, a club in the Spanish Liga Femenina Challenge, where she led the team to a fourth-place finish. Jurado was also part of the Catalonian team that won the U16 Spanish Championships, as well as a member of the Spanish national team that was the runner-up at the European Championships in 2023.
With Mireia Jurado Pla flipping her commitment from SMU to Arizona, Becky Burke has now added four players to the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class. She joins forwards OgheneRuona Miracle and Daniah Trammell, as well as guard Molly Ladwig.
