As fireworks rain across the sky this 4th of July, the Wildcats landed some fireworks of their own in Tucson. On Friday, the Arizona landed one of the top defensive lineman on the west coast with a commitment from 2026 three-star edge Prince Williams.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Williams is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada and preps at powerhouse Bishop Gorman High School. He burst onto the scene for Bishop Gorman as a sophomore in 2023, tallying 96 tackles in 11 games, including 24 tackles-for-loss (TFL) and 10 sacks, helping lead the Gaels to a MaxPreps National Championship. As a junior, he racked up 74 total tackles, including 28 TFL and 11 sacks in 12 games. Williams also appeared in the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game this past January in Florida.

His blend of size and speed also gives him the versatility to line up inside as a defensive or nose tackle.

Williams held offers from 15 programs, but narrowed his top choices to Arizona, BYU, and Utah after taking official visits to the three programs, before ultimately choosing the Wildcats. 247Sports.com composite rates him as the No. 3 player from Nevada, 55th-best edge rusher, and No. 587 overall prospect in the class of 2026. Internally, he is rated as the No. 5 player from Nevada and No. 64 edge rusher.

A commitment from Prince Williams gives the Arizona Wildcats 17 players in their 2026 recruiting class. He is just the second defensive lineman or edge for Joe Salave’a and Co., joining 3-star Harvie Moeai from Utah. In total, the UA now has seven defensive players committed in the class of 2026, including Williams, Moeai, defensive backs Xaier Hiler, Hamisi Juma, and Griffin Tillis, and linebackers Dash Fifita and Jaden Parker.
