After their first day off since the start of 2025 fall camp on Saturday, the Arizona Wildcats returned to the field on Sunday morning for Day 4 of practice. The defense had a good day of drills, focusing on forcing pressure in the backfield and generating turnovers. But it was the offense that was on full display Sunday morning, with the wide receiver room putting the rest of the team on notice. Kris Hutson, Chris Hunter, and Javin Whatley all had outstanding performances, while younger receivers Devin Hyatt, Gio Richardson, and Isaiah Mizell also showed flashes today as well.

Scouts from the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Chargers were in attendance for today’s practice. Check out our full recap of notes and takeaways from Day 4 of fall camp at the Davins Sports Center and Tomey Practice Fields below:

Offense:

  • For the second straight practice, the first team offensive line featured former Michigan Wolverine Tristan Bounds, Alexander Doost, Hawaii transfer Ka’ena Decambra, Michael Wooten, and Texas Tech transfer Ty Buchanan. Wide receiver Devin Hyatt, who suffered a gruesome leg injury in the Territorial Cup last fall, once again took reps with the first team offense.
  • Kris Hutson showed off his footwork and “toe-drag swag” on a heavily contested sideline reception against potential starting cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew during a 7-on-7 period.
  • For the third time in four practices, Noah Fifita has opened up team periods with a deep touchdown pass to Chris Hunter, who beat Texas transfer Jay’Vion Cole for a 65-yard touchdown.
  • Javin “Nunu” Whatley flashed his speed and twitchiness with the ball, carving his way through the secondary for a 40-yard touchdown during a 1-on-1 drill.
  • Braedyn Locke connected with Tre Spivey and Gio Richardson for deep receptions down the sideline.
  • Freshman wide receiver Isaiah Mizell hauled in an impressive diving catch during team period.

Defense:

  • The first team defense featured Tia Savea, Dominic Lolesio, Tre Smith, and Leroy Palu up front, with Taye Brown and Max Harris at linebacker. The secondary included Dalton Johnson, Genesis Smith, Marquis Groves-Killebrew, Gavin Hunter, and Ayden Garnes.
  • Former San Jose State cornerback Michael Dansby had two pass breakups, one against Chris Hunter and one against Brandon Phelps, during a 1-on-1 period.
  • Marquis Groves-Killebrew recorded a sack on Noah Fifita on a cornerback blitz.
  • Genesis Smith intercepted Noah Fifita during the final team period.

Special Teams:

  • Craig Naivar spent some time on Sunday morning identifying and working with prospective members of the kickoff and punt coverage teams.
  • Kickers Michael Salgado-Medina and Tyler Prasuhn once against exchanged field goal reps. Salgado-Medina’s attempts had better arc and rotation on them, but he did miss his final attempt off the upright. Prasuhn had the longest make of the day at 45 yards.
  • With the Wildcats back outside, Isaac Lovison once again impressed during special teams periods with a number of booming punts. Michael Salgado-Medina also took some reps kicking punts.
