The Wildcats have known who they are going to play in conference play during Becky Burke’s inaugural season at the helm since June. Today, they learned when. On Monday, the Big 12 released the 2025-26 Big 12 Women’s Basketball schedule for Arizona and the league’s 15 other teams.
All teams will face three opponents at home and away, six opponents at home only, and six on the road only. Per release, “opponents were selected based on geography, historical results, and a poll of league coaches to balance travel and competitiveness.”
Arizona bookends conference play against former Pac-12 foe Utah, opening Big 12 play at home on Monday, December 22. League play concludes on Saturday, February 28, at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City against the Utes.
The Wildcats close out 2025 with a road trip to Boulder against Colorado on December 31, and ring in the new year on the road in Lubbock, where they will face Texas Tech on January 3. Arizona returns home to host BYU on January 6 and Central Florida on January 10, before a single-game trip to Fort Worth against TCU, the reigning Big 12 Regular Season and Tournament Champions.
The Wildcats return home for a tune-up against Kansas on January 20, before beginning a tough stretch that includes Iowa State in Ames on January 24, a Territorial Cup showdown against ASU in Tempe on January 28, and home contests against Oklahoma State on February 1 and Kansas State on February 4, both of which figure to be Preseason Top 25 teams.
Arizona then travels cross country for matchups against West Virginia on February 7 and Cincinnati on February 10, before hosting in-state rival ASU on February 14, the State of Arizona’s 114th birthday. The Wildcats then host Colorado on February 17, before visiting the Baylor Bears on February 21. Arizona’s final home game of the season comes on February 24, when the Wildcats host Houston for Senior Day, before the regular-season finale at Utah on February 28.
The 2026 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament will take place from March 6-11 in Kansas City at the T-Mobile Center.
“The Big 12 is one of the toughest leagues in the country, and we know every game is going to test us,” said head coach Becky Burke. “Our team is ready for that challenge and prepared to compete at the highest level. Playing conference games in McKale is a huge advantage because our fans create one of the most electric environments in college basketball. There’s nothing like McKale magic, and I can’t wait to see it on full display this season.”
Big 12 play will be new for nearly the entire coaching staff and roster outside of Montaya Dew, who appeared in 29 games, including 16 Big 12 games, last season. The Wildcats finished their 2024-25 campaign with a 19-14 record, including 10-8 in league play. Under Becky Burke in the 2025-26 season, that number looks to remain constant, if not improve.
