Wildcats’ signal caller Noah Fifita had arguably the best game of the season under new offensive coordinator Seth Doege on Saturday. On Monday, the league agreed. Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in the 41-13 win over Oklahoma State.
Fifita connected on 73.7 percent of his passes, completing 28-38 passes for 376 yards and five touchdowns in the dominant victory over the Cowboys. It’s the fourth time in Fifita’s career he has thrown for five scores in a game, matching his career-high in single-game passing touchdowns.
Fifita earned his best PFF grade of the season against a Division I opponent, finishing with an 80.1 overall grade, including an 85.3 passing grade.
After his Pac-12 Freshman of the Year campaign in 2023, which include five freshman of the week awards, it is the first weekly honor for Fifita since the Wildcats’ move to the Big 12. Noah Fifita is also the second Arizona player to receive Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors this season, joining running back Ismail Mahdi, who finished with 221 scrimmage yards, including 189 rushing yards, in Week 3 against Kansas State. Arizona’s offensive line also took home Offensive Line of the Week honors following the 23-17 win against Kansas State.
Up next, Arizona hosts No. 18 BYU for Family Weekend on Saturday, October 11, at 5:00 PM. The game will air on ESPN2.
