After beating the Kansas State Wildcats in a non-conference battle in September, the hometown Wildcats just beat them again on the recruiting trail. On Wednesday, 2026 three-star safety Hannibal Carter Navies flipped his commitment from Kansas State to Arizona, he announced via social media.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound safety is from Loganville, Georgia, where he currently attends Grayson High School. The dynamic athlete plays on both sides of the ball at Grayson, also taking snaps at wide receiver. Carter Navies received offers from 14 programs during his recruitment, including in-state rival Arizona State, and originally committed to Kansas State following an official visit in June. He received an offer from Arizona in early October, before taking an official visit to Tucson for the BYU game on October 11. He was also reportedly in Boulder for Arizona’s 52-17 win over the Colorado Buffaloes, per Jason Scheer of Wildcat Authority.

His father, Hannibal Navies, was a linebacker at Colorado and was a fourth round pick in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. Navies played nine seasons in the NFL, spending time with the Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, and San Francisco 49ers.

Per 247Sports.com composite ratings, Carter Navies is the No. 123 player from Georgia, 103rd-rated safety, and No. 1,276 overall player in the class of 2026.

With the commitment from Hannibal Carter Navies, Arizona now has 21 members in its 2026 recruiting class. He is the Wildcats’ lone recruit from the Peach State and the fourth defensive back in the class, alongside Texas recruits Xaier Hilder and Griffin Tillis and in-state pickup James Pike, the nephew of Cardinals’ owner Michael Bidwill.
