Transfer portal season is officially underway in Tucson. After kicking off official visits on Sunday, the Wildcats have their first pickup from the transfer portal. On Monday, Arizona landed a commitment from Arkansas State long snapper transfer Drew Nicolson.
The 6-foot-0, 221-pound specialist is native of Tempe, Arizona and attended Corona Del Sol High School. He spent his first year of college at Akron, before spending the last two seasons in Jonesboro. Nicolson appeared in 13 games this season for the Red Wolves after redshirting in 2024 and was part of a kicking operation that went 21-27 on field goals in 2025.
He finished the season with a 70.0 grade from PFF.com, the best of his career, as a redshirt sophomore.
Drew Nicolson will have two years of eligibility remaining, giving Arizona, which struggled in its field goal operation, some stability and consistency alongside kicker Michael Salgado-Medina.
With punter Isaac Lovison and kickoff specialist Ian Wagner exhausting their eligibility, the Wildcats could look to add at least one or two more specialists to the roster via the portal.
