With Arizona’s top two targets from the 2025 season out of eligibility, new weapons for Noah Fifita have been one of the top priorities for the Wildcats in the transfer portal. After adding one wide receiver from a former Pac-12 foe earlier in the week, the UA has found another new weapon from a Big 12 rival. On Saturday, Arizona added West Virginia wide receiver transfer Rodney Gallagher III.

The 5-foot-10, 181-pound Gallagher III is a native of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and is a former four-star prospect in the class of 2023. He was the No. 7 player from PA, 44th-best wide receiver, and No. 312 overall prospect three years ago per 247Sports.com, but could never quite seem to establish himself as the lead wideout in Morgantown. During three seasons at West Virginia, Gallagher III appeared in 38 games, making 15 starts while hauling in 64 receptions for 605 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 45 carries for 221 rushing yards. All three scores came in 2024.

Given his speed and play-making ability with the ball in his hand, Gallagher III will likely fill the role of Javin “Nunu” Whatley. He also has one year of eligibility remaining.

With the commitment from Rodney Gallagher III, Arizona has now added two receivers in the transfer portal. Gallagher III joins fellow former four-star prospect DJ Jordan, who is heading to Tucson after two seasons at USC. The Wildcats have now added 12 players via the portal, including six offensive players.
