The weekly surveys on Sunday mornings are finally starting to pay off. After soliciting feedback from season-ticket holders and game attendees throughout the season, a number of changes are coming to the home of the Wildcats next fall. On Wednesday, Arizona Athletics announced a series of game day upgrades to Casino Del Sol Stadium ahead of the 2026 season, as well as the relocation of the home bench from the east sideline to the west sideline.
“We value our fans and appreciate the passion and support they bring, which are part of what makes Arizona Athletics so special for our student-athletes and the entire university community,” athletic director Desireé Reed-Francois said in a statement. “The feasibility study gave us clear insight into what matters most, and we are acting decisively on those priorities.”
Among opportunities fans identified, sound quality was a top concern, leading to plans for a new, state-of-the-art sound system. Arizona will also modernize its 16-year-old videos boards, which contain outdated and obsolete parts, and have made ongoing repairs increasingly more challenging. Casino Del Sol Stadium features a main video board in the south end zone, as well as secondary screen in the north west corner. Finally, upgraded lighting will allow Arizona to have light shows for touchdowns and other celebratory moments.
Arizona Football will also relocate its home bench from the east sideline to the west sideline, a move that places visiting teams in front of the ZonaZoo. It also means during day and afternoon games, the Wildcats will be on the shaded side of Casino Del Sol Stadium.
“We want to create the best home field advantage in the Big 12 at Casino Del Sol Stadium, and these improvements work together to fuel the energy we need from Wildcat fans,” Arizona Football Head Coach Brent Brennan said. “The video boards, lighting, sound, and sideline alignment all contribute to a stronger game day experience and make Casino Del Sol Stadium a tougher place to play for visiting teams.”
Spring football practice begins on March 24, and the annual Spring Showcase is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at Casino Del Sol Stadium. Arizona kicks off the 2026 season against Northern Arizona on September 5 in Tucson.
