Arizona continues to target the Lone Star State as it begins building out its 2027 recruiting class, a strategy that continues to serve the Wildcats well following the move to the Big 12 in 2024. After securing eight commitments from Texas earlier this offseason, the UA has added another. Following an official visit in June, 2027 three-star offensive lineman Mason Joshua has committed to the Arizona Wildcats.
The 6-foot-5, 268-pound offensive tackle is originally from Forney, Texas, located just east of Dallas, where he preps at Forney High School. Per 247Sports.com Composite Ratings, Joshua is the No. 68 prospect from Texas, the 33rd-rated offensive tackle, and No. 520 overall player in the class of 2027. He held offers from over 20 programs, ultimately choosing the Wildcats over Oklahoma State and Utah, as well as other Big 12 programs including ASU, Baylor, Colorado, Kansas State, and Texas Tech.
Joshua is a versatile player who can line up on the interior or outside of the line, spending time at right tackle and center to help lead Forney to a 10-3 record and third round of the Texas 6A D-II playoffs. He was also selected to participate in the Navy All-American Bowl, a high school all-star game that took place in San Antonio, TX in January of 2026.
He, like a number of other players on the Wildcats’ roster, is a multi-sport athlete, competing in track and field events as a shot put and discuss thrower. Last summer, Joshua recorded a 42-6 shot put rep and a 144-10 discus throw at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Summer 2025, per Milesplit.
Mason Joshua is the second offensive addition for Arizona in as many days, joining highly-touted quarterback Caden Jones. He is the second offensive lineman in the Wildcats’ 2027 class, joining JUCO product James Aloisio, and is the ninth offensive commit overall.
