While the Wildcats’ star pass catcher spent the Spring Game sidelined with a “little procedure”, that does not change the expectations for him heading into the 2024 season. Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan earned Preseason First-Team All-American honors from national sportswriter Phil Steele and the Phil Steele Magazine.

He is one of eight UA players honored by the publication, and one of three Preseason All-American Wildcats. Linebacker Jacob Manu and cornerback Tacario Davis both landed on Steele’s All-American Third-Team.

In year two in Tucson, McMillan etched his name into the record books, hauling in 90 receptions for 1,402 yards. Both marks were good for second-most in a single-season in program history. The 2023 AP Third-Team All-American is currently eighth in Arizona’s all-time receiving with 2,104 yards. He is on track to break the school’s 3,351 yard record, set by Bobby Wade, who is returning to Tucson this season as the wide receiver coach, and projects to be a first-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

McMillan, Manu, offensive tackle Jonah Savaiinaea, and kicker Tyler Loop earned Preseason First-Team All-Big 12 honors. Cornerback Tacario Davis was the lone Preseason Second-Team All-Big 12 selection for Arizona, while quarterback Noah Fifita, center Josh Baker, and defensive back Treydan Stukes made up the Wildcats’ trio of Third-Team All-Big 12 selections from Phil Steele.

Arizona begins its Preseason Training Camp on Tuesday, July 30, per Justin Spears of the Arizona Daily Star. The Wildcats’ season kicks off against New Mexico on Saturday, August 31, at 7:30 PM MST on ESPN.
