Brent Brennan said following Early Signing Day and UA’s coordinator changes that one of three primary positions Arizona needs to go after in the transfer portal is offensive lineman. On Friday, the Wildcats addressed that need, snagging two fifth-year offensive linemen from other Power 4 programs. Arizona is adding former Texas Tech offensive tackle Ty Buchanan and ex-Georgia Tech offensive tackle Jordan Brown.
Buchanan, 6-foot-6, 310-pounds, is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, and spent the past three seasons at Texas Tech. During that span, he appeared in 25 games with 10 starts, including eight starts for the Red Raiders in 2024. According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed just two sacks during his three seasons in Lubbock. Buchanan will have one year of eligibility remaining after redshirting his freshman year at USC in 2021, when Arizona offensive coordinator Seth Doege was on the Trojans’ staff.
At 6-foot-5 and 315-pounds, ex-Georgia Tech tackle Jordan Brown gives Arizona even more depth and size to anchor the offensive line. The former Yellow Jacket and Long Beach, California native spent two seasons at Charlotte prior to his two years in Atlanta. He has one year of eligibility remaining. Brown started the first fives games of the season for Georgia Tech, and did not give up a sack during his career at GT.
After losing tackle Jonah Savaiinaea to the NFL, veteran center Josh Baker, who graduated and is out of eligibility, and left guard Wendell Moe Jr., who transferred to Tennessee on Wednesday, both players give Arizona some much needed size and experience up front. The only starters currently returning to Tucson for the 2025 season are left tackle Rhino Tapa’atoutai, who suffered a season-ending leg injury this year, and right guard Alexander Doost.
With Arizona adding Ty Buchanan and Jordan Brown, the Wildcats now have eight additions via the transfer portal. That brings the offensive and defensive totals up to four apiece.

Former Arizona tight end Keyan Burnett announced on Friday that he is transferring to Kansas. The former four-star prospect was a highly touted prospect coming out of high school, but was never able to carve out a consistent role in Arizona’s offense. He appeared in 30 games during his career in Tucson, hauling in 24 receptions for 261 yards and a touchdown, with most of that production coming in this season.
The Jayhawks will play the Wildcats in Tucson in 2025, so Burnett will have one more chance to suit up in Arizona Stadium.
