Arizona has seen a lot of change in recent years, from the construction of an indoor practice facility, to new head football and men’s basketball coaches in the last four years. But one thing that hasn’t changed is the logo on the corner of the Wildcats’ uniforms. On Monday, Arizona Athletics announced a landmark agreement extension with Nike.
The contract begins just ahead of the 2025 academic and athletic calendar, on July 1, 2025, and runs through June 30, 2033. According to a release from Arizona Athletics, the new deal significantly increases Arizona’s annual Nike product allotment, and ensures student-athletes have greater access to footwear, apparel, and equipment.
“Our long-term partnership with Nike has been mutually beneficial for decades and this contract extension further enhances the University’s ability to support our student-athletes, coaches and staff and elevate the UA brand,” said Arizona Vice President and Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois. “Today’s announcement demonstrates a mutual commitment to excellence and would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication from our campus partners. This agreement positions Arizona Athletics among the nation’s top programs, benefiting from robust corporate partnerships. We are grateful to Nike and its leadership team and we look forward to many more years of a wonderful partnership.”
Michael Lev of the Arizona Daily Star is reporting that the deal is valued at $44 million, or $5.5 million per year. That more than doubles the existing deal between Arizona and Nike, which provided the Wildcats with $2.33 million per year. It is also reportedly the largest apparel deal for a Nike school in the Big 12 Conference.
