In perhaps the biggest news of spring camp, Arizona cornerback Tacario Davis has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal. Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports first reported the news. Davis participated in Arizona’s spring camp, but remained undecided on his decision to stay in Tucson until the last couple of days.

Davis said following the first practice of the spring that he wanted to give the new coaches a shot:

“To give the new coaches like a shot to see. Like, I don’t want to just hop in there no knowing like – it was really given them a chance, you know what I am saying? Because everybody stayed together for the team and stuff, so I just wanted to be a part of something special and then stay together and stick around and see how the coaches – give them a shot – and see what it’s about.”

Following Saturday’s Spring Game, Brent Brennan told media that Tacario Davis had not explicitly said that he was staying at Arizona.

Davis appeared in all 13 games, starting 11, as a sophomore last season for the Wildcats. He finished with 25 total tackles (13 solo and 12 assists), one interception, and 16 pass deflections. His 16 pass deflections and 15 pass breakups led the Pac-12. He also had an 85-yard return of a blocked field in Arizona’s 38-3 season opener victory over NAU.

The 2023 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and AP Second-Team All-Pac-12 selection is the No. 15 prospect in PFF’s 2025 NFL Draft: Way-too-early top-50 big board and projected as the No. 16 pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in PFF’s 2025 Way-Too-Early 2025 NFL Mock Draft.

With Tacario Davis having withdrawn his name from the transfer portal, he reunites with fellow returning defensive backs Dalton Johnson, Gunner Maldonado, and Treydan Stukes.
