Tommy Lloyd may have been the international whisperer when he first arrived in Tucson, but Wildcat fans will need to find a new nickname that better suits his domestic recruiting chops as of late. After securing just one five-star prospect during his first four seasons at Arizona, Lloyd has added three this recruiting cycle alone. After a highly anticipated recruitment, 2025 5-star combo guard Brayden Burries announced his commitment to Arizona on Wednesday on SportsCenter.

Burries, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound combo guard from Eleanor Roosevelt high school in San Bernardino, California, was one of the top 2025 prospects that had yet to make a collegiate decision. 247Sports.com Composite rates him as the 3rd-best player from California, No. 2 combo guard, and No. 11 overall prospect in the class of 2025. He held offers from over 30 programs, but narrowed down his options to five schools, including Alabama, Oregon, Tennessee, and USC, before ultimately choosing the Wildcats.

His commitment gives Arizona the No. 4 recruiting class nationally, and No. 2 class in the Big 12 behind national runner-up Houston.

The 2025 McDonald’s All-American and California Gatorade Player of the Year’s recruitment accelerated in recent weeks with the help of fellow ‘Burger Boy’ and now-future Wildcat Koa Peat, who committed to Arizona less than two weeks ago.

His size and athletic frame make him a dynamic three-level scorer that can get to the rim, score at the line, and knock it down from beyond the arc. With that scoring ability, he should be a nice option for Tommy Lloyd and Co., who will be looking to help replace Caleb Love’s productivity from the past two seasons.

Following the commitment from Brayden Burries, the Arizona Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class now features Peat, 5-star small forward Dwayne Aristode, and 3-star guard Bryce James.
