Spring practice has been on hold with Tucson’s focus locked on Indianapolis and Men’s Basketball over the past couple of days. But with the Wildcats back at home, it’s back to business as usual for Brent Brennan and the recruiting staff. Arizona has landed a commitment from 2028 in-state offensive tackle Karmello Calloway.
The 6-foot-6, 295-pound Calloway is from Peoria, Arizona and plays his high school football at Centennial High School. While it’s still early for most prospects in the class of 2028 to have any stars or ratings, given his size and frame at such a young age, the local prospect already has an impressive offer list. Calloway chose the Wildcats over offers from Big 12 rivals Kansas and Iowa State, as well as Texas A&M, Washington, Wisconsin, and more.
Calloway shut down his recruitment after taking a visit to Tucson for spring practice last week.
“Arizona felt like home,” Calloway told Blair Angulo of 247Sports. “I fit in with everyone there, and they showed so much hospitality towards me and my family. They told me I will fit right in with their system and the coaches think I’m what they’re looking for.”
Karmello Calloway is the second member of the Arizona Wildcats’ 2028 recruiting class, joining defensive lineman Simote Tupou from Henderson, Nevada.
