It may have taken longer than many would have liked, but Arizona finally has its starting power forward for the upcoming season. Clemson transfer RJ Godfrey has signed with the Arizona Wildcats, per a report from Pete Nakos and Joe Tipton of On3. Godfrey’s signing comes on the heels on a federal judge’s ruling in Colorado that grants college athletes that graduated in 2022 – including Godfrey – a fifth year of eligibility. The NCAA plans to appeal the ruling.
Assuming Godfrey is in fact eligible, he provides Tommy Lloyd and Arizona with four years of Power Four experience that helps position the Wildcats as one of the top rosters heading into the 2026-27 season.
The 6-foot-8, 240 pound Godfrey averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists last season, while shooting a career-high 61.1% from the field. He spent the first two years of his career at Clemson, transferred to Georgia for the 2024-25 season, then returned to Clemson last year.
Following the signing of RJ Godfrey, the Arizona Wildcats do not plan on making any other additions to the 2026-27 roster.
