While fans were busy watching Arizona Men’s Basketball face Samford on Wednesday evening, Arizona Football’s social media accounts made the largest announcement of the offseason with a photo and just two words, “He’s back.” The photo is of Wildcat quarterback Noah Fifita, who will officially return to Arizona for the 2025 season. The Arizona Daily Star was the first to report Fifita’s return to Tucson.

A year after Jedd Fisch’s decision to depart for Washington, Noah Fifita – who is open about the importance of faith, family, and loyalty – showed once again that the brotherhood he and his Arizona teammates, as well as the City of Tucson, have is something that won’t waver.

As a redshirt sophomore last season, Fifita threw for 2,958 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. After setting the single-season completion percentage record (72.4%) during his Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year campaign in 2023, he completed 260-340 (60.5%) pass attempts in Year 1 under Brent Brennan.

“I’m so appreciative of Tucson and the University of Arizona. Even when things weren’t going well, I still get a lot of love and support – and I appreciate it,” Fifita told the Star’s Justin Spears. “We know Tucson is used to winning and wants a winning football program. We’re going to work our asses off to give them that. We’re so grateful for Tucson. Tucson and the community is one of the reasons why we didn’t want to leave here.”

The 5-foot-10 field general will have this third offensive coordinator in as many years, after former Marshall OC Seth Doege was named as the Wildcats’ signal-caller last week. Doege said on day one that getting Noah Fifita to return to Arizona was a top priority for him and the offense.

“Noah is a real dude. I’m excited about being able to have an opportunity to coach him. I’ve already sent him a couple of text messages, we’ve texted back and forth when I accepted the job. We’re going to get on the phone tonight – he’s priority number one for me, because obviously this offense is a lot better if Noah is behind center…I’m really excited about that quarterback, because I think he makes this thing go.”

Noah clearly liked what he heard.

With Arizona’s offensive coordinator in place, and QB1 officially returning, the Wildcats can shift their attention to transfer portal, and continue adding weapons for Noah Fifita next fall.
