While it won’t officially be portal season for another three weeks, another Wildcat player has announced her intentions to look for a new home when it opens. Arizona Women’s Basketball forward Blessing “Adde” Adebanjo will enter the transfer portal following the completion of the the 2025-26 season. Talia Goodman of On3.com first reported the news.
After spending her first season of college in Japan, Adebajo arrived to campus late, joining the team in September. And while her season got off to a slow start, naturally, she emerged onto the scene for Becky Burke and the Wildcats, particularly on the defensive end. Adebanjo appeared in 26 games this season, making four starts and averaging 3.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game this season, while shooting an efficient 50.0% from the field. The native of Lagos, Nigeria also averaged 0.9 blocks and 0.5 steals per game. Her best game as a Wildcat came against, well the Wildcats. In the win over Kansas State, Adebanjo finished with career-highs in points (17) and blocks (7). She also recorded 11 rebounds in the non-conference win over Bellarmine.
She is the second Wildcats announcing her intentions to enter the transfer portal, joining guard Tanyuel Welch. Becky Burke and Arizona will look to replace her size in the paint through a combination of high school recruiting and the transfer portal. Options include incoming freshmen Callie Hinder, who enrolled early and has been with the team since January, and Priyanka Ponnam. Montaya Dew will also be back after missing the 2025-26 season recovering from injury, giving the Wildcats an increase presence in the paint.
