One of the most prolific players of the Tommy Lloyd era is officially heading to the rafters. On Wednesday, athletic director Desireé Reed-Francois officially invited former Wildcat Caleb Love into the Arizona Men’s Basketball Ring of Honor.

Love becomes just the 35th player in program history to be recognized with the honor. He qualified for the Ring of Honor after being named Pac-12 Player of the Year in the 2023-24 season. Love also becomes the third player to be inducted into the Ring of Honor under Tommy Lloyd, joining Bennedict Mathurin (2020-22) and Christian Koloko (2019-2022).

In two seasons in Tucson, Love appeared in 73 games, averaging 17.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He reached career-best shooting marks, averaging 40.5 percent field, including 33.6 percent from 3-point range. Some notable moments from Love’s career at Arizona include a career-high 36 points at Oregon in 2024 – also a Matthew Knight Arena high -, a three-quarter-court buzzer beater heave at the McKale Center to force overtime against Iowa State, and a 35-point performance in his final collegiate game versus the Duke Blue Devils in the 2025 Sweet Sixteen.

After not being selected in the 2025 NBA Draft, Love signed a two-way contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. Love averaged 15.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in five games. Love finished with a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans. He also had an 18-point outing in the Blazers’ win over the Golden State Warriors.

While Caleb Love was on campus to receive his official invite to the Arizona Ring of Honor, details about when he will officially be inducted are still to be determined.
