Business has been booming in the transfer portal for Arizona. But, sometimes the most important recruits are the ones already in the building. On Tuesday, it was reported that Treydan Stukes will withdraw from the transfer portal and return to Arizona. Jason Scheer of Wildcat Authority first reported the news, before Stukes confirmed via his social media.
The 6-foot-2, 198-pound Litchfield Park, Arizona native will be back for his sixth season of college football next year. Stukes redshirted as a freshman in 2020, and was also granted a medical redshirt in 2024 after suffering a season-ending knee injury on the road at Utah. Prior to the injury, he recorded 18 tackles, one interception, and two PBU.
With his announcement comes 42 games of experience returning to Tucson. Stukes, who then-defensive coordinator Duane Akina once called the “best kept secret in college football”, also brings a plethora of leadership experience back to the Wildcats after serving as a two-time defensive captain. In his career at Arizona, Stukes has 154 tackles, including 11 TFL, as well as three interceptions and 25 PBU.
Treydan Stukes is the third defensive back to withdraw from the transfer portal and return to Arizona, joining Genesis Smith and Dalton Johnson. The Wildcats’ secondary is rounding out nicely, with the UA also bringing back Marquis Groves-Killebrew and Jack Luttrell. Arizona has also added defensive backs Michael Dansby, Jay’Vion Cole, and Jshawn Frausto-Ramos through the portal.
