The Wildcats continue to be aggressive in rebuilding their defensive back room. Given the high turnover at cornerback this offseason, that aggressiveness has been necessary for Duane Akina, Chip Viney, and Co. On Tuesday, Arizona received a commitment from El Camino College (JUCO) cornerback Elijah Brown. Former Arizona cornerback Tacario Davis also announced his decision to transfer to Washington and reunite with Jedd Fisch in Seattle.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Brown is a native of Los Angeles, California and played his prep ball at Narbonne High School. The former three-star prospect in the class of 2024 held offers from UC Davis, Colorado State, Northern Arizona, and UNLV, but opted for the JUCO route instead. In his lone season at El Camino, Brown appeared in 10 games, tallying 38 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and seven pass breakups. Brown also had a staggering five interceptions, with two double-interception games.
He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Following his commitment to Arizona, Elijah Brown is the second junior college prospect to join the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class, joining defensive lineman Zac Siulepa from New Zealand.
On the flip side, Tacario Davis is heading to the Pacific Northwest to rejoin his former head coach. The two-time second-team all-conference selection led the Pac-12 with 16 passes defended and 1 5 PBUs in 2023. This season, Davis had 44 tackles, including two TFLs, and six pass deflections for the Wildcats.
Davis entered the transfer portal last season following the head coaching change, but elected to return to Tucson for Year 1 in the Brent Brennan era. He is the third player recruited by Jedd Fisch to transfer to Washington this offseason, joining linebacker Jacob Manu and defensive lineman Ta’ita’i Uiagalelei.
