Selection Sunday is days away, but that hasn’t stopped Adia Barnes and Co. from staying busy on the recruiting trail. On Thursday, 2024 German Guard Mailien Rolf committed to Arizona. She is the Wildcats’ third commit in the upcoming season’s recruiting class, and second in as many days.

Similar to fellow newcomer, Serbian forward Katarina Knežević, the 5’10” guard spent last summer playing for her home country’s U18 and U20 teams at the FIBA Women’s European Championships. In the U18 event, Rolf played in seven games, averaging 10.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals in 23.1 minutes per game. In the U20 Division B Championship, Rolf – the second youngest player on the squad – saw her production decrease. She played six games, averaging 3.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals in 19.2 minutes per game.

Rolf also plays club ball for Rhein-Main, a German club in the second division of the women’s Bundesliga. She has played for the Baskets since 2021, and is listed as the team’s starting small forward by EuroBasket, suggesting she has the ability to play the one through three for Adia Barnes.

The German guard is the third prospect to commit Arizona’s 2024 recruiting class. Rolf joins guard Lauryn Swann from Long Island Lutheran in New York and Serbian forward Katarina Knežević. Knežević committed to the Wildcats on Wednesday.
