The Wildcats are one step closer to rounding out their secondary after needing to replace most of the starting production from 2025. On Tuesday, Arizona added UConn defensive back transfer Lee Molette III.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defensive back has spent his entire career with the Huskies, redshirting in 2022, before taking on an expanded role starting in 2023. In his four year career in Storrs, Molette III has appeared in 38 games, recording 124 tackles, eight pass deflections, a fumble recovery, and an interception. His best season came this past year, finishing with 65 tackles, including 2.5 TFLs, four pass deflections, and his lone career interception.
He brings plenty of experience to the Wildcats’ secondary. Per PFF.com, Molette III has logged 1,677 snaps across defense and special teams, making him a valuable asset and leadership presence for Arizona’s young secondary next season. Molette III has one year of eligibility remaining.
With the addition of Lee Molette III, Arizona has now added 19 players via the transfer portal, including seven defensive players. He is the fifth new defensive back, together with Tyrese Boss (Wyoming), Malcolm Hartzog Jr. (Nebraska), Cam Chapa (Northern Colorado), and Dwight Bootle II (Charlotte).
