A draft pick a day keeps the doctor away. The Wildcats had their third former player come off the board on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft. On Saturday, the Baltimore Ravens selected Arizona kicker Tyler Loop in the sixth round with the 186th-overall pick.
Loop is the second kicker off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft, behind Miami’s Andres Borregales, who was taken four picks earlier by the New England Patriots with the 182nd-overall pick. He becomes just the fourth Arizona kicker taken in the history of the NFL Draft. He is also the first Arizona kicker selected in the NFL Draft since Nick Folk was taken in the sixth round of the 2007 draft by the Dallas Cowboys.
During his career at Arizona, Loop was the team’s primary kicker for three seasons. In 50 career games, Loop connected on 67 of 80 attempts. His 83.75 field goal percentage is the good for the highest field goal percentage in program history. Loop set a program record with his 62-yard field goal in Arizona’s win over Houston last season. He also set a program record with five-made field goals against Texas Tech last October.
The decision by the Baltimore Ravens to draft Tyler Loop indicates that John Harbaugh, Chris Horton, and Co. could be prepared to move on from future Hall of Famer Justin Tucker, who has faced a number of sexual misconduct allegations this offseason.
Loop is the third Wildcat taken in this year’s draft, joining wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan and offensive guard Jonah Savaiinaea. McMillan was taken 8th overall by the Carolina Panthers, and Savaiinaea was selected 37th overall by the Miami Dolphins.
