It’s less than two weeks from Selection Sunday, which means the City of Tucson is locked in on men’s basketball. And while that may be, that has not stopped Brent Brennan and the Wildcats from continuing to attack the transfer portal. Following an official visit, Cal Poly edge rusher transfer Victory Johnson has committed to Arizona.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive lineman is a native of San Diego, where he prepped at Cathedral Catholic High School. Johnson began his collegiate career at Colorado, but did not see the field during his lone season in Boulder. He spent the last two seasons at Cal Poly, making his presence felt at the FCS level. As a redshirt freshman in 2024, Johnson appeared in nine games, recording 10 tackles. He broke onto the scene as a redshirt sophomore in 2025, finishing with 26 tackles, including seven tackles for loss and three sacks. He also grabbed an interception, five quarterback hurries, and two pass breakups, earning Second Team All-Big Sky honors.

Johnson joins an Arizona defensive line room that includes Tre Smith, who is coming off a season-ending injury, as well as Dominic Lolesio on the edge. There is not much experience behind the two returning starters, which gives a player like Johnson, who played 604 snaps last season per PFF.com, an opportunity to see the field right away.

Arizona begins spring practice on March 24, with the annual spring showcase scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at Casino Del Sol Stadium. A full list of the Wildcats’ transfer portal activity is available here.
