Men’s and Women’s Basketball aren’t the only programs on campus securing commitments this week. With spring football in full swing, the Wildcats have had plenty of visitors in Tucson, including one who enjoyed his trip to the Old Pueblo so much he’s decided to call it home. On Monday, Arizona received a commitment from 2027 three-star tight end Max Markofski.

The 6-foot-4, 228-pound tight end is native of Southern California and attends Mission Viejo High School. The big-bodied Markofski is the No. 54 prospect from California, the 38th-best tight end, and No. 661 overall prospect in the class of 2027 per 247Sports.com Composite Ratings. After visiting Tucson over the weekend, his second trip in as many months, Markofski chose the Wildcats over offers from Minnesota, Oregon State, Utah, Washington State, and more. He also has an official visit lined up for June 12.

Markofski appeared in just two games as a junior after suffering a season-ending foot injury, finishing with nine receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown. He also reportedly missed the 2024 season due to broken collar bone, making durability somewhat of a concern for Brent Brennan, Josh Miller, and the offensive staff. Markofski is a multi-sport athlete who runs track, something the Arizona coaching staff has been keen on over the past two season. This past March, he posted an 11.19 100-meter time and a 52.85 200-meter rep, showing off impressive speed give his size and frame.

Max Markofski is the third member of the Arizona Wildcats’ 2027 recruiting class, joining in-state wide receiver Trey Smith and Texas safety Jalani Culpepper.
