With the transfer portal closing on Monday, activity has slowed down significantly for Becky Burke and the Wildcats in recent days. That doesn’t mean the second-year head coach is done adding talent to the roster ahead of the 2026-27 season though. On Monday, Arizona Women’s Basketball added Polish wing Karolina Ulan to the 2026 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-1 wing will be a freshman when she arrives in Tucson, but already has plenty of experience under her belt, after turning 21 in January. Ulan is coming off a season with Gydnia, a professional club that competes in OBLK, Poland’s top league. In 18 games, she averaged 12.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 29.9 minutes per game. She shot 34.6 percent from the field, including 41.5 percent from inside the arc and 29.4 percent from 3-point range.

Ulan also has several years of experience as a member of the Polish national team. She most recently competed for Poland at the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket in Matosinhos, Portugal in the summer of 2025. She averaged 14.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 26.4 minutes per game, while connecting on 32.1 percent of her shots attempts. Ulan also competed for Poland on the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket in 2024, FIBA U18 Women’s European Championships in 2022 and 2023, and FIBA U16 Women’s European Challengers in 2021.

She is not the most efficient shooter, but can score in bunches when she gets going on the offensive end due to her high volume of shot attempts. Ulan scored in double figures in 13 of her 18 games with Gdynia, including a pair of 20-plus-point performances. She also had three 20-plus-point games in the U20 EuroBasket, including a 29-point game against Portugal.

“Karolina is one of the top prospects from Poland,” said Burke in a release on Monday. “She has competed at the highest levels in EuroLeague and EuroCup competition for multiple years and will bring that valuable experience with her to Arizona. Karolina is a big, long and versatile guard who can score at all three levels. Her toughness and competitiveness will separate her and make our team better immediately. We are very lucky to have her.”

Karolina Ulan is the fifth member of the Arizona Wildcats’ 2026 recruiting class. She joins fellow wing Priyanka Ponnam, as well as a trio of four-star guards in Jasleen Green, Makayla Presser-Palmer, and Arynn “Simba” Finley.
