As Becky Burke and the Wildcats’ staff learned during their first season, you can never have too much size and depth in the Big 12. With that in mind, size and depth are exactly what the UA continues to add as it rounds out its roster. On Friday, Arizona Women’s Basketball landed a commitment from former Boston University forward Anastasiia Semenova.

The 6-foot-2 forward from Saint Petersburg, Russia spent the last four seasons with the Terriers, and will have one to two years of eligibility remaining after medically redshirting during the 2024-25 season. The two-time captain was impressive in her return to the court as a senior in 2025, appearing in 28 games and making 19 starts. As a senior, the Russian forward averaged 9.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 08 assists, while connecting on 49.8 percent of her shots from the field. She also connected on 84.6 percent of her free throw attempts last season.

She scored in double figures in 11 games last season and closed out the season with 12-point, 10-rebound double-double in an overtime win against the American University Eagles. Her best game of the season though came on the road at Bucknell, where she matched her career-high with 21 points.

Semenova is the fourth post player Becky Burke and Arizona have added this offseason, and fifth big on the roster. She joins early enrollee Callie Hinder, as well as Breanna Williams (Maryland), Gerda Raulusaityte (USC), and freshman Karolina Ulan from Poland.

The Wildcats now have 12 players on the roster, meaning it is more than likely complete. Becky Burke and the staff could look to add one more insurance piece via the transfer portal, but have a solid balance of depth and opportunities for playing time at 12.
