The Wildcats will begin hosting 2027 recruits on official visits this summer in late May and throughout June. Even though that’s still a few weeks away, that didn’t stop the UA from capitalizing on having visitors on campus last weekend to close out spring camp. On Friday, Arizona received a commitment from 2027 three-star wide receiver Braylen Ross.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Ross is a native of San Diego, California, but currently preps at Crean Lutheran in Irvine, Calif, after missing his junior year at San Diego Lutheran due to eligibility issues. Per 247Sports.com Composite Ratings, Ross is the No. 105 player from California, the 145th-best wide receiver, and the No. 1,173 player in the class of 2027. He chose the Wildcats over a number of offers, including ASU, Cal, Kansas State, Kentucky, TCU, and more, after taking an unofficial visit to Tucson for the Spring Showcase.

Ross was originally considered a tight end, but given his size, route running ability, and catch radius, was recruited by Arizona as a wide receiver.

“Arizona recruited me harder than anyone,” Ross told Greg Biggins of On3. “I love their coaching staff and wide receiver development, that’s what I was looking for. I really like Coach B (Brent Brennan) and Bobby Wade (WR coach). They pushed hard for me, even though I wasn’t able to play my junior year. It’s real love out there and it just felt like home.”

The coaching staff weren’t the only ones that impressed Ross on his visit. The Old Pueblo itself did too.

“I liked the city of Tucson a lot and felt very comfortable there,” Ross told Biggins. “It has a small-town feel, it’s a college town and I love the all around fit for me.”

Following the commitment from Braylen Ross, the Arizona Wildcats now have three players committed in their 2027 recruiting class, all of which are on the offensive side of the ball. Ross joins three-star in-state receiver Trey Smith, as well as three-star Southern California tight end Max Markofski. Texas safety Jalani Culpepper backed off his commitment earlier this week.
