It has been a fruitful offseason for Brent Brennan and the Arizona Wildcats, which have landed who they hope could be the signal caller of the future. Following an official visit to Arizona, the Wildcats have received a commitment from 2027 three-star quarterback Caden Jones.
Jones and his high school wide receiver teammates Ty Johnson and Braylen Ross, who also committed to the UA after visiting Tucson this offseason, will look to capitalize on their chemistry and replicate the success quarterback and wide receiver tandem Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan had for two seasons in the Old Pueblo when the trio arrives on campus in 2027. They are also joined by three-star cornerback Evan Mack, who committed to the Wildcats earlier this week.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback currently preps at Crean Lutheran in Irvine, California. The top uncommitted QB in the class of 2027 is the No. 47 player from the state of California, 36th-best signal caller, and No. 613 overall prospect, per 247Sports.com Composite Ratings. At the time of his commitment, Jones has a 0.8811 rating – he could likely bump up to a four-star prospect by the time he arrives in Tucson in 2027. He held offers from 40 programs, including Arkansas, ASU, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, UCLA, and more, and took official visits to Washington and Baylor before committing to the Wildcats.
During his junior season in 2025, Jones completed 74.8 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,044 yards and 30 touchdowns, with just one interception. He also added 261 more yards and another score on the ground. Jones is also the younger brother of redshirt freshman linebacker Carter Jones, who was a member of the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class.
Jones is the lone quarterback and seventh offensive player in the UA’s 2027 recruiting class for Brennan and offensive coordinator Seth Doege.
With Caden Jones, Mack, and Johnson joining Ross at Arizona, there is belief within the building that the four can help bring a Juice County 2.0-like bond and chemistry to the locker room once they arrive in Tucson.
