Arizona Women’s Basketball has spent the last few weeks building an impressive 2026 non-conference schedule. Now, the Wildcats are turning their attention to building out the 2027 recruiting class. On Friday, 2027 four-star wing Brieana Brown committed to Arizona Women’s Basketball, giving Becky Burke and the UA their first commit in the ’27 class.

The 6-foot-0 guard/forward combo is from San Diego, CA where she currently preps at Francis Parker High School. Per ESPN’s 2027 SC NEXT 100 rankings, Brown is the sixth-best wing and No. 38 overall prospect in the class of 2027, making her the highest-rated prospect under Burke – Arynn Finley was the 53rd-rated prospect in the class of 2026.

Brown chose the Wildcats over an impressive list of offers that featured a number of Big 12 rivals, including ASU, Colorado, as well as Cal, Ohio State, Princeton, and Wisconsin.

During her junior season at Francis Parker, Brown averaged 16.5 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 23 games. Throughout her three-year career with the Lancers, she has averaged 15.4 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.4 SPG, and 0.8 BPG across 73 games.

In addition to being a standout at the high school level, Brown also plays for the AAU club Seven Days, which competes in the Adidas 3SSB (3 Stripe Select Basketball) circuit, helping the team claim a 17u title this summer.

After relying heavily on the transfer portal to construct her first roster at Arizona, a commitment from Brieana Brown after assembling a top 20 recruiting class in 2026 continues to highlight the recruiting chops many hoped Burke would have in Tucson.
