Since the addition of Arizona and the four corner schools in 2024, the Big 12 continues to be a leader in innovation in collegiate athletics. After partnering with Microsoft to add Surface tablets to the sidelines during games in 2024, the league announced this season that it would be releasing weekly injury reports for conference games. On Wednesday, the Big 12 released the first injury report for the Arizona Wildcats ahead of their matchup with No. 14 Iowa State on Saturday.
Per the league, “Big 12 football programs will be required to submit daily reports beginning three days before each game,” with players designated as “available, probable, questionable, doubtful, or out.”

Arizona’s first injury report does not have any surprises listed, with only a couple players, including wide receiver Rex Haynes and offensive lineman Ise Matautia, seeing limited snaps this season. Tight end Tyler Powell, who suffered a season-ending leg injury on the first offensive play of the season for Arizona, is also out.
Two notable players who are not on Arizona’s first injury report are linebacker Riley Wilson and defensive lineman Tre Smith. After suffering an injury in fall camp, Wilson has been in and out of the lineup for the Wildcats this season, with his lone appearance this season in the game against Weber State. Tre Smith suffered an injury in the first half of the game against Weber State, before missing the game against Kansas State.
With both players back for Arizona, it gives defensive coordinator Danny Gonzales two more impactful tools to matchup against Iowa State’s physical tight ends and running backs.
One other name to keep an eye on is former Georgia Tech offensive lineman Jordan Brown, who missed most of spring and fall camp with a lower body injury. Offensive coordinator Seth Doege mentioned Brown during his weekly media availability on Tuesday, indicating he may see some limited action against the Cyclones.
