It’s never too early to start preparing for next season. On Tuesday, Luke Haugo, the highest-rated in-state quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class, committed to the Arizona Wildcats via X and Instagram.

The Phoenix native, who attends Higley High School in Gilbert, AZ, chose Arizona over a number of programs, including Arizona State, San Diego State, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, and others. 247Sports.com rates Haugo as the top quarterback in Arizona and the eighth-best overall prospect from the Grand Canyon State in the 2025 recruiting class. He is also the No. 68 quarterback and No. 1,023 overall recruit nationally in 2025.

Haugo has appeared in 14 games during his three seasons at Higley, throwing for 2,094 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, while completing 62.7 percent of his passes.

He is the Wildcats’ second quarterback commit of the 2025 recruiting class, joining three-star Northern California prospect Robert McDaniel, who pledged to the UA in late May. He also joins three-star tight end Kellan Ford, who committed to the Cats back in early April. Luke Haugo is also the first in-state prospect committed to Arizona.

With the additions of McDaniel and Haugo, Arizona will have a plethora of options at quarterback heading into the 2025 season, highlighted by then two-year starter Noah Fifita. The Wildcats also currently have former four-star quarterback Brayden Dorman, along with San Jose State transfer Anthony Garcia, Northern Arizona transfer Adam Damante, and walk-on Cole Tannenbaum.
