Tommy Lloyd and Arizona relied on a tight eight-man rotation for much of its historical 2025-26 season. Well, one of those players, who was primed for a starting role and a significant minutes increase this fall is looking for a new home. Following a lone season in Tucson, Arizona wing Dwayne Aristode is entering the transfer portal, per Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.
The 6-foot-8 freshman from the Netherlands appeared in 35 games for the Wildcats this season, missing four game this season due to an undisclosed illness. Aristode averaged 3.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game, but shot a blistering 49.0 percent from the field, including 46.2 percent from 3-point range. His best performance of the season came in non-conference play against NAU, where he scored 18 points on 6-9 shooting from beyond the arc, tying the program record for 3-pointers made by a freshman.
While Aristode missed his senior season of high school at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire due to a foot injury, the Dutch freshman came to Tucson a year ago as the No. 24 rated player and seventh-best small forward in the 2025 recruiting class, per 247Sports.com.
Aristode is the second Arizona player to enter the transfer portal, joining fellow freshman Sidi Gueye, who are both likely in search of more minutes. As of now, Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats have to replace the production of seniors Jaden Bradley, who has already declared for the NBA Draft, as well as Anthony Dell’Orso and Tobe Awaka. Star freshmen Brayden Burries and Koa Peat are also likely to take their talents to the NBA, while Ivan Kharchenkov and Motiejus Krivas could test the waters and get feedback ahead of the May 28 deadline.
