It didn’t take long for Becky Burke to land her first addition in what is sure to be a flurry of transfer portal activity over the next several days for the Wildcats. On Friday, Cal Golden Bears guard transfer Aliyahna “Puff” Morris committed to Arizona Women’s Basketball.

In her lone season in Berkeley, the 5-foot-5 guard appeared in 26 games, making 18 starts, and averaged 7.0 points, 2,4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 23.8 minutes per game. Morris can be a scorer or a facilitator, but has upside to grow into on the offensive end of the floor after shooting 34.1 percent from the field, including 31.9 percent from 3-point range, as well as 56.4 percent from the free throw line. She scored in double figures in seven games last season, including a career-high 17 points against Charlotte early in non-conference play. Following her career-best against the 49ers, Morris earned ACC Freshman of the Week honors, becoming the first Cal player to earn conference honors since joining the league in the 2024-25 season. She also had a 12-assist performance in the Bears’ 70-62 win over local rival St. Mary’s.

Morris is originally from Rancho Cucamonga, California and attended Etiwanda High School, one of the premier programs in Southern California that garners national attention year in and year out, where she finished as the No. 3 all-time leading scorer and No.2 all-time in 3-pointers. She has as impressive a high school resume as they come, most notably earning McDonald’s All-American honors in 2025. She also earned MaxPreps First-Team All-American honors and was the MaxPreps California State Player of the Year in 2025.

Aliyahna “Puff” Morris joins an Arizona Women’s Basketball roster that is loaded with guards. Sumayah Sugapong and Molly Ladwig are returning to Tucson, while the Wildcats are also bringing in freshmen guards Jasleen Green, Arynn “Simba” Finley, and Makayla Presser-Palmer. Between returners, the 2026 recruiting class, and Becky Burke’s first portal pickup, Arizona now has eight players on the roster.
