With two weekends of official visits in the books, a pair of things are clear. One, the Wildcats are loading up on defensive players. And two, the program wants players from the Lone Star State. Following a visit to Tucson over the weekend, Arizona received a commitment from 2027 defensive lineman Logan Draper on Sunday evening.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound defensive lineman is from the Houston area and attends Spring Westfield High School. While he is not currently rated by 247Sports.com internal or Composite Ratings, he will likely be a three-star following the commitment to the Wildcats. He held offers from a number of programs, including UTSA, Colorado State, New Mexico, and Texas State, but ultimately chose the UA.
He is the second Spring Westfield pledge in as many weeks, joining safety Jaylen Oliver, who committed to the Wildcats last week. Logan Draper is now the second defensive lineman Arizona has added to its 2027 recruiting class, joining San Antonio product Ahzan Bacote. The Wildcats now have eight commits in the 2027 recruiting class, including five from the state of Texas. Those five include Draper, Oliver, Bacote, as well as safety Luke Stevens and running back Wayne Shanks Jr.
